Gaps when playing a radio

Hello,

When I play this mp3 radio stream (BFM radio, French news) https://audio.bfmtv.com/bfmradio_128.mp3 there are a lot of gaps. How can I play with the settings to eliminate these gaps?

The obvious answer would be to increase the 'InputBuffer' and 'Prebuffering' configuration parameter sizes to take account of a slow delivery from the streaming station, but doing this did not solve the problem.

There are a couple of other streaming stations which also exhibit the same problem: onair-ha1.krone.at and rs8.stream24.net.

SoX's play(1) does not exhibit the problem.

I have some other clues (which I won't go into here), but further investigation is required.
