Is there a way I can ask mocp to continue playing a wave file which is being appended with new data even after its apparent length (the length it had when playing began) is reached?
Hi, are you talking about the WAV format? In that case, it seems that the ability to keep on playing is decoder-dependent, as I've witnessed today when playing a not-yet-fully-downloaded MP3 file, which MOC would play past the end while hiding a remaining time counter.
Yes, I am talking the WAV or WAVE format, which unfortunately stores information about the file length at the beginning of the file. I suspect the only way to achieve this goal is to instruct MOC to ignore this information and simply play until EOF is reached.
