It appears, that mocp turns off the output driver of my sound card (e.g. set it into some high-impedance state), when I pause a song. This leads to
a) some noise on the speakers when being paused and (more annoyingly)
b) a loud snap sound, when I unpause the song.
This can be avoided, if I keep the line-in un-muted. However, I'd like to keep it muted (most of the time), because there is a different sound source connected there.

I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS with i3-gaps on an old MacBook Pro (2010ish). In terminal, ls shows that I have an mp3 file named 'Deep Field' (quotes are shown in terminal as well, and that's the name of the song) but in MOC it doesn't recognize that I have an mp3 in that directory. Does anyone have any ideas? This same problem occurred on Cmus, but still no clue how to fix this.

Hello, I'm using MOC on my old mini PC with Debian Wheezy and a RME Digi 96 PCI sound card. I have build the newest version of MOC myself on the PC. Everything works fine except one thing:
I have some 96kHz 24 bit FLAC files. The /proc/asound filesystem shows me that the ALSA driver switches to 96kHz for playback of these files but does not switch to 24 bit playback, which is supported by the soundcard. It still shows 16 bit. Is 24 bit playback supported at all? The playlist window does not display anything about bit depth of current file. This should be also considered.
