Playlist for Streaming Addresses?

Is there a way to create a playlist or other file list of streaming URL's so that one may select from a list of favorite streaming web sites rather than just music files? I'm asking for a blind friend who uses a text only Braille reader on Debian. Thanks in advance.

You should just be able to add the URL using CTRL-u, or if you have (or create) an M2U playlist, you could just add the URL manually. For example, this works:

#EXTM3U
#MOCSERIAL: 0
#EXTINF:-1,Ambient Ogg (URL)
http://radio.hbr1.com:19800/ambient.ogg

However, if the URL points to a playlist file rather than an actual audio stream then read this post.
