Here you can discuss everything related to MOC which doesn't fit other subforum.

Just want to preface this by saying I have mocp working great on my other computer using slackware 12.1.
here are the specs for the laptop having the trouble:
compaq presario 1625 laptop
amd k6 266mhz, 64MB ram
fresh netbsd 4.0.1 install
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/packages/NetBSD-4.0/i386/All/moc-2.4.3.tgz
I've installed mocp using the netbsd pksrc binary via pkg_add moc
I've tried playing either flac, ogg, or mp3 and none will play. All give the same error message from mocp: "Can't change number of channels"
no audio is played and this message just flashes randomly.
i have verified the soundcard is working by the old `cat filename >> /dev/sound`
This is a very old slow system and so compiling mocp and all the dependencies from source is really not an option. Is there any hope of a working mocp install here?

Greets daper from Czechia :-)
Thanks for a superb player that I use everyday and love it!
Today I fetched a revision 2012 and tried ./autogen.sh
.
Howewer, it failed after running
+ automake -W all -a
outputting
configure.in:18: required file `./ltmain.sh' not found
.
I had to symlink this file manually (here in Ubuntu Hardy Heron it was in multiple places, like /usr/share/libtool/libltdl/ltmain.sh).
I suggest this is done automatically, yet I don't know how to do it since I have little experience with compiling.

It would be really nice and useful feature for such an advanced player, as any other player does. Sometimes you would need to edit the track's name, album, artist, genre etc.. for a specific song to be able to add it to your own archive or just to correct something. But you find yourself unable to do it, so you have to open some other player and do it through it. This feature could be applied as follows:
1. Select a track
2. Press some binding key (e.g "i" or "e") to enter the edit track menu
3. Small track menu layout opens, which has track's info (Artist, Track name, Album, etc..)
4. Save & exit tab or just ESC for cancel
Vuala! you got your track info edited.

I'm using: moc 2.5.0-alpha3 Build: Jun 29 2008 13:51:46
Recently I've encountered a problem when descending into my Music directory using the MOC browser. By quite some copying back and forth, I found out that it was related to one specific file with the name "Verdi - Nabucco - Va, pensiero (Parte III, Scena seconda - Coro e prefezia).mp3". Initially I thought it was related to the long filename, but after isolating the file in an otherwise empty directory and renaming it to "Verdi.mp3", the result was the same. As soon as I descend into the directory containing the file, MOC quits with a screenful of error messages.
After a bit of experimenting, I figured out it was probably related to reading the tags. When I toggle off the ReadTags option, I can descend into the directory without any problems. When I choose for MOC to play the file, however, it quits abruptly again (altho the file does start playing).
I've uploaded the file here: http://pinnerup.anarcho.dk/pub/Verdi%20-%20Nabucco%20-%20Va,%20pensiero%20(Parte%20III,%20Scena%20seconda%20-%20Coro%20e%20prefezia).mp3

First off thanks for the great software! I do have a question on searching. I'd like to build playlists based on search criteria. If I search for "gin blossoms" is there a way to add all those files into a playlist when the search is done? Normally, I would use the add key and files get added to the playlist side of things. How is this done when you do the search?
Thanks.

the acces to that folder is granted. I'm running mocp from root.

I am trying to set up a multi-zone music player and just discovered MOC, but having had a play I discovered that only one instance can run at a time and it only outputs to the default device. Are there any ways to overcome these?
Thanks,

Hi,
can I display one zero before the track number, if the track number is <10? Whats with Playlists with >100 tracks?
That would be nice, because it's now out of alignment (in the Tag-View).
Thanks.
