On Slackware 12.1
output of mocp --version
moc 2.4.3 Build: Jul 4 2008 18:57:45
Compiled with: OSS ALSA internet streams
I noticed today that moc won't play my .wma files. I have libvorbis, flac, ffmpeg, and all the other required softwares installed. I'm able to play .wma files with Xine and Audacious, but not with moc :\
I have no ideas how to fix this. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi!
I have recently migrated my music collection from a mixture of anciently ripped/encoded mp3-s and ogg-s to a pure flac collection. I am able to play all the files with MOC, but I seem to have a slight problem with it apparently not being able to read FLAC tags. The only thing appearing in the playlist are the file names.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot in advance :)

Can I use moc to connect to server throuh network? Like mpd + mdp_client.
Because I read man page and used google and didn't find this possibility.

I'm new to moc, but I really like it. The main problem I'm having is... that I can't get it to support my vast library of m4a music. I initially installed the ffmpeg plugin package, and when it didn't work I went to the documentation and found that it isn't compiled properly. I went and loaded the "ffmpeg" package that says that it supports everything... but I still get the "no codex" message. I assume that this is something that I'm going to have to compile from source and put in the proper magic folder to get it to work. Can someone tell me how to compile this properly? Let me throw out there that I have tried multiple times to compile things from source, and have repeatedly wasted days of my life on it to no success. So if someone could point me to a good set of instructions or something, I would be quite grateful.

Hi moc users
I'd like to use moc as a "wake up in music" system in conjonction with cron, currently, when playing a webradio and the stream gets down for some reason, moc does not move to the next playlist item, I would be interested in such a feature. To be sure I wake up on time, even if my beloved webradio is down ...
Is there anyway I can do it catching some moc event ? Or is it worth adding this to the feature requests list (I think so :p)

Hi moc users
I dono if I'm missing something obvious or not, I can't figure out how to load more than one pls files in moc playlist. Once one is loaded and trying to load another one I get a "clear the playlist message, not sure what u wanna do there"
I actualy want to load multiple pls files in moc playlist, I mostly use moc to listen to streaming web radios and would like to be able to change the radio from the playlist without the clearing, importing, switching to playlist, playing manipulations ...
any hint on how to do that ?

For scripting reasons I would like to be able to get the songs in the playlist output as a list of text through some mocp command or through some script. How can I go about doing this?

Hi everybody,
I just installed Ubuntu 8.04 on a new pc, and the first program I installed is MOC players. I tried to play some music, it worked but I couldn't hear the music; I see the music play, I see the time advancing, but I can't hear the music. I didn't get errors when I installed it or when I tried to play music (I didn't get any errors). I checked the volume from the panel but it didn't work. I tried to install the ffmpeg plugin but it didn't work either. In the meantime, I also tried to play music with Totem, and it asked me to install the proprietary codecs package (which I did) and I was able to play music...but it still doesn't work in moc. I tried to restart my pc but it didn't work either...
I tried to type lspci in a terminal to check what soundcard I have (no I don't know what sound card I have):
Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy LS
To summerize the situation: I can play music using both totem and moc but I only can hear the music with totem...
Does anybody know how to fix that please?
