Here you can discuss everything related to MOC which doesn't fit other subforum.

There are two things that make me unhappy with MOC :(
First, MOC doesn't resize itself properly when "inheritPixmap" option in urxvt is on.
Second, SetXtermTitle doesn't work with urxvt, even with xterm. Other programs can change terminal title successfully.
Does anybody have similar problems? I'm on Archlinux, urxvt 8.2? MOC 2.5.0-alpha2.

This is probably a stupid question with a very simple solution, but here goes:
I've been playing around with the various command line options, but I haven't found a way to properly do what I want: from some other app (krusader/konqueror) start moc in a new console window, playing the selected file(s), and staying open. I.e. I want to be able to use mocp as the default media player, integrated with kde.
I can do one or the other, but not both:
xterm -e mocp somefile.mp3 opens moc alright, but it doesn't start playback, and
xterm -e mocp -p somefile.mp3 starts playback, but the interface closes down.
Other combinations seem to give variants of this behaviour. What am I doing wrong?

Hello
I've been trying for long to solve this problem, I've been searching forums and mailinglists but with no luck.
I've installed the following:
moc 2.5.0-alpha2, I had the same problem with stable.
ffmpeg 0.cvs20070307-5, I think, ffmpeg -v can't tell.
moc-ffmpeg-plugin 1:2.5.0~alpha2-1
and even daap 2.5-4, still both ffmpeg and moc says: no coded for this file, it does list the files...
all from unstable.
mplayer can play all my old cd-ripps done with iTunes
daap can convert the files to wav, and they play fine
is there some configuring I have to do?
I'm using Debian Etch on i386.

I have a little question about radio from internet.
I have downloaded a file stream.pls from internet from this page http://www.eskarock.fm/rock.php?page=10
(Użytkownik Linux'a:
Dla XMMS lub VLC:
http://www.radio.pionier.net.pl/stream.pls?radio=eskarock )
I hear the music , in playlist is a 3 file to choose (with different bit rate) but i cant see the title and artist in the mocp. There is only "Eska Rock" .
On XMMS there is everything ok.
Is there a way to see the artist and title in moc?
Why am i asking? I have this radio station on my HiFi but i don't have an RDS on it, and I want to see what's playing on radio (title and artist name) and then i can buy my favorite song :D from amule.

What color can I use in the theme for moc? IS it only " black, red, green, yellow, blue, magenta, cyan, white, default, grey" or there is more?
What is the default color?
I think there is not enough color for moc available. Can U make that moc can use hex color or all of the name that are used in html?

Some new and updated color themes will always be found at http://nic-nac-project.de/~orveldv/moc/moc.html
I'll stop posting about this not to annoy anyone :)
Cheers.

I've upgraded my system to Ubuntu Feisty, and started having problems with mocp. A few tracks have very bad quality, with crackles and pops, in exactly the same places every time. The same files play fine under madplay, and other MP3 players using different decoders. Also, if instead of the default backend for moc (Alsa), I switch it to use OSS, or even jackd (with jackd running with an Alsa backend), the crackling goes away. There doesn't seem to be anything particularly strange about the files that crackle -- most of the other tracks in the same album, which were ripped at the same time, don't have these problems.
Also, recoding the file can cause the crackling to go away, or change slightly. I've experimented a bit, and have had problems either with high quality VBR or a high fixed bitrate.
Note that the same tracks were working fine before my upgrade (I had Ubuntu Edgy before).
If it would be helpful, I could upload the tracks somewhere, or parts of them.
