I have compiled moc-2.5.0-alpha3 with these options:
MOC will be compiled with:
Decoder plugins: mp3 aac musepack vorbis flac wavpack sndfile modplug sidplay2 speex
OSS: yes
ALSA: yes
JACK: yes
DEBUG: yes
RCC: yes
Network streams: yes
Resampling: yes
and still no proper id3v1 tags (when I remove id3v1 tags from files, id3v2 in utf8 are readed properly and I can submit to last.fm, but most mp3s are on ro partitions)
I've try with UseRCC=yes and still not working. librcc is compiled with librcd and aspell.
Tags looks like this: http://www.isarapix.org/pix41/1231592839.png
twierdza:/home/paatos# ldd /usr/bin/mocp | grep rcc
librcc.so.0 => /usr/lib/librcc.so.0 (0xb7caa000)
Any suggestions? Can I force disable reading id3v1 tags?

I am using moc 2.5.0-alpha2 on Ubuntu 8.04
but it seems that the iconv things can not work properly for me, in a UTF-8 environment.
UseRCC seems have NO effect. I am not sure if it is because librcc is not linked in the pre-compiled package from Ubuntu repository.
ldd output:
ldd `which mocp`

I tried to install librcc, librcd and corresponding dev packages.
Then download moc 2.4.3 and compile
but the configure output is :
MOC will be compiled with:
Decoder plugins: vorbis
OSS: yes
ALSA: yes
JACK: no
DEBUG: yes
RCC:
Network streams: no
Resampling: no
even not a "no" after the RCC option field.
Anyone who can give me some hints?

Does anybody if its possible to play a CD within MOC?
Submitted by vik on Thu, 2008-12-25 23:50
I really like this piece of software. This is the way you listen music, EASY and fast.
But im wondering about playing audio CDs
Anybody knows how to play audio CDs within MOC? Should be fantastic!
Another feature i miss is the capability of filtered searches, i.e. browse your music
by author, tittle, album (depending on the tags you can/have)

Hi
Just found out about moc and it´s quickly becoming my favorite music player :)
One feature that i am missing is the ability to sort the directory by date. Very often
i want to check out the latest additions to my collection, but it´s kind of hard to find
those in when they are listed alphabetically.
Keep up the great work :)

I use CrunchBang 8.10.1 Linux (Ubuntu remix replacing Gnome with Openbox)
When I used Synaptic to install moc-ffmpeg-plugin 1:2.5.0~alpha3-3ub, it removed libavcodec-unstripped-51 and replaced it with libavcodec51. After that, ALL of my audio stopped working.
When I reinstalled libavcodec-unstripped-51 and mocp, audio was back to normal but I still could not play WMA, AAC, or MP4 files.
BTW, although probably not relevant, I am using USB audio.
