Hi,
MOC is listed as nice player client for Slimserver. I wonder how I should start MOC to be slimserver client ?
Also can I run it completely in background without any gui - just be controlled from slimserver ?
Can I redirect its output to specific alsa device (hw:0,1, hw:0,2, etc...) ?
Thanks in advance,
regards,
Rob.

I don't know SlimServer,
I don't know SlimServer, sorry.
You can run MOC without the GUI using for example `mocp -a some files` and then controll it with mocp --play, mocp --next, etc.
To use a specyfic alsa device, use AlsaDevice in the config file.

Hi,thanks for answer. MOC
Hi,
thanks for answer. MOC is listed on slimserver page as currently best available client/player...
wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?PluginPlayers
Anyone familiar with MOC and Slimserver? Slimserver is interesting server that can beside controlling players also sync them playing same stream...
Thanks in advance,

Rob.

MOC with SlimServer
If your MOC is built with network support you can start it with the URL of SlimServer's MP3 stream as follows ...
# mocp http://servername:9000/stream.mp3
If you are testing this on the same machine as slimserver, then replace "severname with "localhost".
Once it has established a connection you can control the stream from the SlimServer web browser page (under "players"). This is similar to using XMMS as a client player via a network connection.
You can also enter a URL (as above) from the MOC user interface via the '^U' keystroke.
You can run MOC on the SlimServer stream as a MOC "server" process by doing the following:
# mocp -S URL && mocp -p
