Using ffmpeg without ffmpeg-config

ffmpeg-config depends on distribution, some distributions have it some do not.
Original sources of the ffmpeg from http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net do not have this script.
So it is not wise to use ffmpeg-config to determinate if ffmpeg is installed.

wmmoc - WindowMaker moc control applet

Hi!
Today I wrote this nice applet based upon wmxmms. It's just slightly modyfied wmmutton (http://dockapps.org/file.php/id/241 , project's homepage is 404). Applet uses mocp command line options so it's functionality is limited - if I have more free time maybe I'll try to write applet communicating with server using normal IPC not command line. Look'n'feel of applet is rather poor due to my poor ability to use gimp (; I'm waiting for comments / suggestions!
You can download it here http://www.icpnet.pl/~benetnash/projekty/wmmoc.tar.bz2
Enjoy!

Error with title in playlist

Hello!

First of all, I want to thank you for Moc.
It's a my favorite linux player ^_^.

Here my problem:

With my config file, I save my current playlist everytime I quit.

If I launch moc with this command in my Eterm:
mocp -p

The first line of the playlist is modified.
The title disappear and some numbers replace it.
Everytime I relaunch moc, another line is replace by numbers...

Here a screenshot with three errors:

I made some test and if I erase ~/.moc/tags_cache and ~/.moc/playlist.m3u it return to normal.

Here some info:

I make a archlinux package with ABS (Arch build System) and with this option to configure:
./configure --without-jack --without-curl

Thank you very much.

MOC 2.3.3 Slackware package

Hello.

I really like your player, thanks very much for this excellent software!

Since I use Slackware, I made a Slackware package for MOC since I couldn't find any on your page. If you wish to have it, take it from here:

http://kotnik.homelinux.org/moc-2.3.3-i486-1.tgz

Unfortunatly, my upload speed is quite limited, so be patient ;)

For Slackware, this package is easily installed using following command as root:

installpkg moc-2.3.3-i486-1.tgz

Cannot compile latest CVS

Hi,

I cannot compile latest cvs on Debian Sarge....

I get first error cause option -W is not recognized in automake. I commented that out, but get further errors :

dcerouter_260:~/Plutohome/slimserver/trunk$ ./autogen.sh
+ test -f Makefile
+ aclocal -I m4
+ autoheader
+ automake -a
configure.in: 3: `automake requires `AM_CONFIG_HEADER', not `AC_CONFIG_HEADER'
configure.in: 3: required file `./[config.h].in' not found

Any help ?

Regards,

Rob.

How to use MOC with Slimserver

Hi,

MOC is listed as nice player client for Slimserver. I wonder how I should start MOC to be slimserver client ?

Also can I run it completely in background without any gui - just be controlled from slimserver ?

Can I redirect its output to specific alsa device (hw:0,1, hw:0,2, etc...) ?

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Rob.

UTF-8 tags and some problems with 2.4.0 beta 1

Hello, I just installed moc 2.4.0 beta1 and it's very nice! The UTF-8 support in particular is something I've been waiting for - moc was my favourite music player even without this, but it's somewhat inconvenient when you have lots of music with non-ASCII titles ;-)

Now, UTF-8 display indeed works for filenames, but not for tags. I use UTF-8 tags, moc interprets them as Latin-1. Should I set something in the config file? The only option in config.example that seemed relevant was TagsIconv, but I see it's deprecated now.

A problem I enountered: when the front-end enters directories with long names and non-ascii characters, it crashes with:

*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x080df088 ***

For example, I get a crash when I try to enter a directory named "αααααααααααααααααααααααααα" (that's 26 times the greek letter alpha).

Another (cosmetic) problem: with files containing double-width characters (Japanese etc.) the display isn't absolutely correct. Here's a screenshot:

Thanks!

LADSPA Support

Hi, thanks for this great software!
And my request... would be possible to add LADSPA plugins support to mocp?.. that can make it even more perfect than it is!
Bye and thanks again!
