minimum terminal width

Hi!

Thanks for the good work on MOC! I'm currently using cplay but MOC is much better - except for one thing: cplay works in tiny terminal windows of only 40 characters width, moc currently does not:

david@chopin ~
$ moc

FATAL_ERROR: The terminal is too small after resizei
ng.

(Note the linebreak after 62 characters.)

What would have to be done to make MOC work on small terminal windows? I'd also like to remove vertical frame lines because my layout will always either show playlist or directory window.

Thanks for any hints where I could look.

David

FATAL_ERROR: Can't send() int to the server.

Hi:

I was able to succesfully compile and install moc 2.4.1, however when I try to run it, I get the following error mesagge:

FATAL_ERROR: Can't send() int to the server.

So I try running from the build directory, but get this:

FATAL_ERROR: No decoder plugins have been loaded!

I have xubuntu 6.06 on a pentium 3.

Thanks.

Feature Request - Alternative Seek Keys

It would be nice to have alternative seek keys. So f.e. pressing RIGHT seeks forward given time (f.e. 5 seconds) and SHIFT+LEFT (or smth like this) seeks forward another given time (f.e. 1 minute).

Now it is hard to me to seek thru 6h file. I could have set seek time larger but then it will be hard to seek precisely.

MPlayer has similar option. Arrows seek like 5 seconds. PgUP/PgDOWN seek 1 minute.

plugin errors

I am having toube with my plugins and getting moc to work. when i type mocp at my terminal i get the error:
Loading plugins from /usr/local/lib/moc/decoder_plugins...
Loading plugin libid3tag...
No init function in the plugin!

I dont know what to do about this.
can you help?

'mocp -e directory/' fails to add music to the effective playlist on moc-2.4.0

steps to reproduce

1. start mocp and close the ui set Shuffle off
2. mocp -e directory-with-music/
3. do 'mocp --next' while !end_of_list

while the list visible in mocp-ui includes the added files mocp doesn't play the files until I select them manually.

I checked the changelog and this doesn't seem to be fixed in 2.4.1

mocp 2.4.1 don't sound when jackd -d oss

Hello,
I'm enjoying mocp.
But when I tried "jackd -d oss" and
"mocp -R jack", mocp didn't not sounded.
After I quited the mocp,
I saw following message:
-----------------------
$ mocp -R jack
Running the server...
Trying JACK...
alsa_pcm:playback_1 is not a valid Jack Client / Portalsa_pcm:playback_2 is not a valid Jack Client / Port
-------------------------
I tried xine-jack and MPlayer,
but they sounded well.
Because of above message,I thinked mocp tried connecting to alsa driver,
then I installed alsa-driver,"jackd -d alsa",
and mocp -R jack, It sounded but noisy.

So, I want to use jack and oss, please tell
me how to.

oss sound driver: via82cxxx_audio
jack audio connection kit:0.102.20-1

Feature Request - Some more shell attributes

Hi,

in order to build a nice colorfull shining webinterface(well, i know my jokes are the worst xD) it would be very interresting to give the Moc-Deamon two or three more attributes, like mocp --play. But i want more informations about the songs which he is playing. For example that mocp --file lets the server answer which file he is playing with the full path. The second should show only the number of the item of the playlist which he is playing.
Another one, i dont know if its already build in, but it would be also nice if there is an attribute like jump [index], with this command the player jumps to the index of the playlist and plays this item.
I hope it is possible to build this commands in.

BTW. Moc is the best player in the world ;)

Thx Rippchen

mocp 2.4.1 hangs with libavformat

Hi.
As 1st time poster, I'd like to thank Daper for the excellent player.

I've build ffmpeg, and I can use ffplay to play .wma's (but can't seek). The ffmpeg's svn version doesn't have ffmpeg-config, but the moc's configure did found libavformat.

The file list now shows the .wma's files, but when I try to play one, it just hangs.

I'm running slackware 10.2 and moc 2.4.1.

Any tips?
Thanks.
