Stable release

New stable release.

MOC 2.4.4 released

I've decided to release a new fixed version of MOC because from the reports I get it's even getting hard to compile MOC on newer systems. There are also fixes for common crashes users complain about. I realize that not all bugs were fixed, but 13 fixes were worth a release :) See the changelog for details.

2.4.3 - few, but not all bugs fixed

Here is the 2.4.3 stable release which fixes few (but not all) bugs. This includes fix for problems with newer curl versions, problems with tags in internet streams with some stations and more. Here is the full list of changes.

2.4.2: some bugs fixed

MOC 2.4.2 has been released. It fixes some of the bugs from the previous version. This is all I can do now as I wrote earlier. The full list of changes is here.

2.4.1 - not all bugs fixed

The good news today is that we have a new release. Unfortunately it doesn't mean that the development of MOC awaken. I've decided to make this version because as you can see in the changelog there were 16 bugs fixed since the last release. Moreover there are still known bugs which havent been resolved, you can read the list in the TODO file included with the sources. My policy is to not include new features when the last number in the version increases, but there is one little addition, the 'P' command (PlaylistFullPaths configuration option) that allows to turn off displaying full paths in the playlist.

For those who want new features there is a little more in the SVN version: a command to prune unreadable files from the playlist (written by tyranix) and Modplug support (by Hendrik Iben) not included in 2.4.1.

Nasty bug in 2.4.0.

I'm sorry to inform that 2.4.0 has a quite big bug that prevents it from playing MPC files and files supported by libsndfile (wave, aiff, etc.). You will also hear noise if you are using a big-endian box (like PPC). This was discovered by Elimar Riesebieter, he tests MOC better than me :). To fix it, you can apply the patch.

Patches:

2.4.0: a bit delayed, but released

2.4.0 release was delayed a bit, but here it is. This release adds custom main window layout, UTF-8 (that wasn't as easy as I thought and is not perfect), WMA, executing external commands, cache for tags, and more. The full list of changes is here.

2.3.3 release: minor bug fixes.

MOC 2.3.3 was released today. It contains few fixes to bugs found in the previous release. The full list is here. In short: few memory leaks were fixed, workaround for the problem with the backspace key on many terminals was added, and problems with compilation on OpenBSD were fixed (mostly by Tilo Stritzky).

2.3.2 release

Here goes another bugfix release: 2.3.2. See the changelog for details.
