First of all, I have to say that I am very happy with MOC. I have completely switched over from other players, because it is lightweight, unobtrusive, easy to work with, and accessible. I even hacked PyPanel -- a taskbar+ program -- for it to read info on which MOC track is playing, and it works wonderful. You can see both in action at http://desktopcam.gatonegro.ceibes.org (the MOC window, and the PyPanel hack in the upper-rightish area).
Formalities aside, I have but one important issue with MOC: whenever I am using an application that has bursts of CPU usage -- something as simple as loading a page with Firefox, for example -- MOC 'hiccups', which means that it will stop playing for a fraction of a second (while the CPU burst lasts. Mind you, that if it lasts longer, it will remain silent while it does). Is should be worthwhile mentioning that this happens when only ~75% of the CPU is being used, not even at 100%.
I tried assigning MOC a lower nice value (as low as -10) without success. Any hints? Or is it a bug?

Hi, just a note: there are now not one, not two, but THREE moc status monitors for the minimalist window manager ion3! Clearly, ion3 users love moc...
You can see it running in the bottom left of this screenshot:

I've made a couple of scripts to be used as MOC external commands.
They let you easily move, rename, create and delete files and directories from within MOC. They are commandline-based, with line editing, filename completion (Tab) and history of previous invocations.
Download this zipfile (alternate link) and follow the instructions in the README file.
Comments / feature requests are welcome!

Does the ffmpeg-plugin supports AAC+?

A while ago I was complaining about broken ogg-streams where metadata from the stream is overridden by (static/useless) information from the icecast server.
While I totally agree to that it is the streams fault and not a moc bug I have the luck to only listen to those broken streams...
Finally I lost my temper and created a patch that allows me to toggle the use of icecast information at runtime (actually any information from the stream, only decoder information is used). If this is of interest to anyone you can find the patch here : http://www.tzi.de/~hiben/moc (meltdown-patch).

Would it be possible for MOC to add formatting (FormatString) support for the Year, Genre and Comment tags? At least the Year... that'd be awesome in itself.
Love MOC - thanks for such a great app.
